FOTD: Birthday Look Using Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette
1:16 AMHola,
So my birthday was a few days ago and even though I knew I was going to be out of town on a work trip, I still decided to have my birthday shoot, you know as a reminder of I don't know, something. I got my friend and ace photographer Lemmy of Lemmy Vedutti Studios to help with professional pictures, but I got pictures first before the shoot. Check out pictures from the shoot here.
I also decided to review the Too Faced Cat Eyes palette on myself (I've used it on clients). I was going for a pinup inspired look; without the red lip and a little darker with the eyes. I'm totally in love the palette, check out my review here.

I unusually started by applying my foundation process first, priming with Maybelline New Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser (review coming soon) before applying Mary Kay medium Coverage foundation in Bronze 600 with the RT Expert Face Brush. I proceeded with my highlighting process using LA Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer in Fawn to highlight under my eyes, nose bridge, chin and forehead; blending out with a damp beauty blender and I set it with Ben Nye Banana powder. To contour, I applied Maybelline Clear and Smooth Powder in Cacao on the sides of my nose, hollows of my cheeks, jawline and temple with the RT contour brush. With a large fluffy brush, I blended out the highlight and contour lines using Milani Mineral Powder in Deep.
For this look, I opted to try the Hegai
and Esther Brow gel and I totally love that my brows stayed in place all
day and it was easy to use especially with the brush that came along
with it.
After
filling my brows, I applied NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk generously on my
eyelids and feathered it a bit into my crease. With a round blending
brush, I applied a soft brown color from Zaron palette into my crease
and then applied Meow from the Too Faced Cat Eyes palette onto 3/4 of my
lid, I followed it up with Leopard which is a shimmery brown from the
same palette, this acted a transition color before I applied Panther; a
matte uber pigmented black shade. I blended Panther on outer part of my
eyes and with a pointed blending brush, I blended it into my crease
aiming for a very light cut crease look.
I
lined my upper eye lid with Color Envy liner by Jordana and my
waterline with Kiko Milan Gel liner in Black and with a precision brush,
I applied Panther again on my bottom lashes before applying Red Cherry
#43 lashes.
I usually apply lip balm before I start any makeup application, basically to prep my lips and soften them. I tried to different lips for this look; the first one is for all my shy sisters, nude lips paired with smokey eye using Jordan pencil in brown and Kiko Milani Smart lipstick in 900 and I applied Jordana Squeeze and Shine lipgloss in Strawberry Icing over it.
For my bold sistas', I paired the look with a pink toned ombre lips, which I lined with MAC Vino Pencil and applied Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Melted Fuchsia all over my lips and applied Sleek Pout Paint in cloud to the inner pout of my lips, I then topped it off my applying Motives for Lala Mineral Lipgloss in Soho Pink.
I finished of the look by applying blush and and bronzer using Coastal Scents Blush in Fuschia Pink and MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Gold Deposit
So I definitely was in the picture mood even before the photoshoot started.
My wig was styled by Ehis Hair 08079856784, 07033749590 @ehishaiandnails on instagram.
My birthday was totally fun, as I spent it in a hotel room in Jos, chewing Haribos, watching movies and boring stuff (you can imagine the rest), until my bride sent me cakes and a basket full of goodies, Note to self: never take an out of town event on your birthday.
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I had fun putting the look together. Look out for more looks in the coming year....
Till my next post....
Muchos love...
