FOTD: Ankara Inspired Look with HOT Margaret Ekpo Palette

3:18 PM

Holla Bellas,

I promised to post details of this look, a while back and I know its taken a while but its better late than never. It was afun creating this look, as I had to choose what colors to play with and also made the bold step to make my brows thinner than I normally trim them, I must say I was really scared as I haven't had thin brows in a long time ( even then it wasn't on purpose), I love how it came out though.

With this look, I started by applying my face first, with priming and applying my foundation. I realized my skin had toned a bit lighter so I switched up my foundation using Mary Kay Medium Coverage in Bronze 600 all over my face, then my highlighting process using LA Girl Pro concealer in Fawn applying under my eyes, bridge of my nose, my chin and forehead. I blended out using a damp beauty blender and set it with Ben Nye Banana Powder.
After filling my brows and highlighting, I applied NYX JEP in Milk all over my eyelid and contoured with a reddish brown eyeshadow from Zaron Cosmetics Nude It All Palette and added a little wine/plum shade from the HOT Margaret Ekpo Palette; blending evenly into my crease. With a large eyeshadow brush, I applied the Lime Green shade onto half of my eyelid and followed it with the dark blue shade from the same palette, I added a a little black to add more 'smoke' to the eyes. With a blending brush, swept the black color into my crease, making sure to reduce pressure at the inner corners.

I lined my eyes withe Jordana Color Envy Liquid Liner (I absolutely love this product) and applied mascara and false lashes, finished off the eyes by defining my eyes with Kiko Milan Gel Liner in Black, I also brushed a little mascara on my bottom lashes.
On my lips, I already applied EOS lip balm before I started my makeup; which simple made the MAC Flat Out Fabulous glide easily on my lips since its an ultra matte lipstick. I realized I never so a block/single color on my lips, so I just left the lips plain---lippie only!!!
Finally, applied blush and bronzer under my eyes, forehead nose bridge and chin.

I totally love the fabric I used and my scarf was tied by my beautiful assistant, Enife.
