FOTD: Smokey Princess
9:50 AMHola Bellas,
Hope you had a fulfilling week? I'm finally back home
after the northern wedding I told you about last week. It was an
amazing success and I just glad to be back in my familiar
surroundings...home sweet home.
I created this look a couple of days back and I don't know what inspired the name, but it just popped when I was writing this post.I love smokey eyes!!! It's never wrong!!! unless of course you're only of those chics that just take a blob of eyeshadow smear it on your upper and lower lids and then apply some maroon lipstick...well, apologies---that's just wrong. If done right, smokey eyes could make you absolutely stunning!!!
Dark browns, burgundy and black can be used to achieve various smokey eye looks, most popular being black. I'll work this post into a series to show you how to use other colors to achieve a smokey eye makeup look.

After filling my brows and priming the eyes, I buffed the wine color from HOT Margarette Ekpo palette into my crease, blending upwards. I
intensified the crease using Cocoa from the Smashbox Wondervision Palette, I followed by patting on Blackout from the Naked 2 palette to the entire
eyelid and the blended the colors in the crease and lid. I
highlighted the brow bone with Bare from the Smashbox Wondervision Palette. I then
lined the inner top waterline and lower lashline with Inglot Gel Iiner in #77, blending slightly down. For my lashes, I first applied L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara
in Carbon Black before applying Red Cherry #217 lashes using Ardel Lashtite glue.
After priming the face I applied Mary Kay foundation in Bronze 607 all over my face and then I applied LA HD Proconceal
concealer to the undereye area; I blended this with a wet beauty blender and
the used Ben Nye powder in Banana to set the highlight before contouring
using Maybelline powder in Cacao; also did same process for the nose. I then
blended all using my favorite Real Techniques Buffing brush.
For my lips, I decided to keep it really simple, I applied 3 coats of Fabulosity lipgloss in Allure. I bought the gloss for review and its really amazing!!! I'm wearing Freshlook Brilliant Blue contact lenses.
Its really an easy look because its basic black but pay attention to your blending. I hope you enjoy putting this look together as I did. Do leave your comments below for any look requests or product information...I love you hear from you!!!
Till my next post....
Muchos love,
