FOTD: Mellow Yellow with HOT Margaret Ekpo Palette
2:21 PMHola Bellas,
Its that time again when I share my makeup look and how to achieve it. Today's look is also a mini review of the House of Tara Margaret Ekpo palette which by the way has to be the hottest product in the HOT range for now.
| HOT Margaret Ekpo Palette |
The palette consists of 12 vibrant matte colors which are very true to their colors as you'll see in the pictures below and I totally love the palette. Its been flooding my timeline both on Instagram and Facebook and I decided to give it a try and got myself one too!!!
So I decided to play with the palette and since I haven't done a look with yellow, I opted to give this a try and of course---I'm loving it!!! I wonder why with all the eye shadow palettes I have why I'm still shopping for more--oh well!!
Erm, in most of the pictures I took of this look; I had my phone in my hand because I was on the phone with my 'oga at the top' (if you don't know what that means, God bless your heart). Well, I couldn't just hang up the phone and decided to accessorize my pictures with it; I apologize for the distraction.

My sister decided it was time to photobomb my pictures, so please ignore the skinny girl in the pink tank top, that's my skinny sister Jade (*tongue out*)
After filling my eyes and priming
my lids with UD jumbo pencil in Milk, I contoured my eyes using the rich brown
matte shade in Cocoa from Smashbox Wonder Vision Eye Set in Sparks and then I
applied the bright yellow e/s from the HOT Margaret Ekpo palette to about ¾ of
my eyelid and then added the deep purple shade from the same palette the rest
of my eyelid. I then added a little black using Blackout from Urban Decay to
add more depth to the look. Using a fluffy blending brush, I swept a little of
the black shadow into my crease. I applied Peach (from the Smashbox set)—which
is a very shimmery gold-ish color; to my tear duct area and little to my lower
lash line. Again, I applied UD pencil in Milk to my lower lash line and then
applied Gonzo from the UD Electric palette and then lined my upper lash line
with Jordana semi permanent liquid liner in Black and my waterline with Inglot
Gel liner in #77. For my lashes, I first applied Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara
in Jet Black before applying Red Cherry #217 lashes using Ardel Lashtite glue.
These lashes are a bit voluminous but I decided to really stray from my comfort zone, so please feel free to try something you are more comfortable with.
Another phone call....
After priming the face I applied Mary Kay foundation in Bronze 607 all over my face and then I applied LA HD Proconceal
concealer to the undereye area; I blended this with a wet beauty blender and
the used Ben Nye powder in Banana to set the highlight before contouring
using Maybelline powder in Cacao; also did same process for the nose. I then
blended all using my favorite Real Techniques Buffing brush.
For my lips, I'm wearing MAC lipstick in Impassioned and I ombre-ed it using Sleek Pout pain in cloud, this can also be achieved using NYX pencil in Milk. I opted not to use gloss for my lips.
I also decided to act part model by trying on a few beads from Suave Gems (suavegems@gmail.com)
Believe me, I totally love the whole look!! Its so colorful and for a moment I felt like a walking drawing board, but I loved every minute of creating the look.
The HOT Margaret Ekpo palette is a must have if you really love colors and please use a very good primer (before you come and kill me).
Have you tried this palette?? Whats your take on it? Please leave your comments below.
Till my next post....
Muchos love,
