Work Post: Makeover for Tonto Dike
7:58 AM
Hola Bellas,
How you doin'??(in my best Wendy Williams
expression). Hope y'all are having a wonderful week and are looking forward to an
amazing weekend?!! My week has been really busy and fulfilling; one of the many
things I have to give praise to God.
If you already following me on my social
media platforms--@bellezzafaces across the board (Twitter, Instagram,
Facebook)--you already know that I was opportune to do The Duchess--Tonto
Dike's makeup. It was a wonderful experience as I got to spend a whole day with
the DB records crew--D'Banj, KaySwitch, Poko, 2Kriss and Davee.
So you must know I was starstruck for a
couple of minutes and the I just plunged into work. In her words she wanted
"a very light makeup" and I think I killed it!!! I worked on 2 looks, basically same thing;
I just amped the 2nd look a notch. Here's a list of products I used and how I
made it happen.
Products Used
Brows
- Jordana Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and Brown
- Motives Cosmetics Sculpt Palette in Fire
Eyes
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
- Urban Decay e/s in Foxy
- L'Oreal Duo eyeshadow
- Jordana Semi Permanent Liquid Eyeliner in Black
- Inglot Creme liner in 77
- Red Cherry #43 Lashes
Face

- Mary Kay Timewise Matte Foundation in Bronze 1
- Arike Loose Powder
- Coastal Scents Blush in Rose pink
- Sleek Glisten Me Liquid Illuminator in Empress
Lips
- Nameless Sweet Pink pencil
- MAC Matte Lipstick in Snob
After filling out the brows and priming the
eyes with NYX JEP in Milk; I started with contouring the eyes withe the brown
from the L'Oreal e/s duo and I applied UD e/s in Foxy from the Naked 2 palette generously
to 3/4 of the lid and added more of the brown color in the crease to the outer
corner of the eyes to add more depth to the eyes. I then lined the upper lash
line with Jordana semi permanent liquid liner (this eyeliner is the truth!!!)
and the waterline with Inglot Black gel liner.
After priming the face I applied Mary Kay
Matte foundation all over the face and then I applied LA HD Proconceal
concealer to the undereye area; I blended this with a wet beauty blender and
the used Arike Loose Powder to set the highlight before contouring her face
using Maybelline powder in Cacao; also did same process for the nose. I then
blended all using Real Techniques Buffing brush.
For her lips I first moisturized using
Zaron lip balm and the outlined the lips with with a sweet pink colored pencil
and then applied MAC matte lipstick in Snob. I applied blush and Sleek Glisten
Me illuminator on the highest point of the cheeks.
For the 2nd look
I amped the eyes by applying UD Blackout
eyeshadow to the outer corners of the lid and blended a bit in the crease to
give a subtly smokey eye look--a fluffy blending brush will do just to this
process.
For the lips; after cleaning off the
initial color using Primark cleansing wipes; I dabbed a bit of foundation and
outlined the lips using Jordana lip liner in Mulberry Creme and filled in Tara
lipstick in Tejuosho. Of course I finished off the look with
Motives 10 Years Younger makeup setting spray.
I had fun on set with the whole crew and a
special thanks to my amazing students Jumoke and Amaka for their assistance.
Look out for more stunning celebrity
looks!!!
Till my next post!!!
Muchos love,
Noteworthy:
I'm putting finishing touches on the set for
my youtube channel; do bear with me and thank you for your patience!!! Love
you!!!
