FOTD: Pink for October!!!

5:12 PM

Hola Bellas,

I almost missed doing this post, because I thought I was gonna do a collaboration with another beauty blogger for this look; its still a few days to the end of the month, so we can still work on one.

As you know October is marked as Breast Cancer awareness month and is symbolized by the color pink! Which is obviously why today's look is a pink themed look. By now I'm guessing you know that my favorite lip color to wear is pink but for today's look, I added a bit of twist and tried something I only imagined a few days ago. I also used a new eyeshadow palette which I've seen everywhere on social media; its Morphe Brushes palette in 35B

You should know that....
  • Breast cancer is the second most common newly diagnosed cancer and second leading cause of cancer death among women.
  • Much of the suffering and death from cancer could be prevented by more systematic efforts to reduce tobacco use, improve diet and physical activity, and expand the use of established screening tests.
  • Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate. Although it most often strikes women between ages 55 and 65, women of all ages should be diligent about screenings and be aware of their risk factors.
Early detection is key, please visit a hospital or read up online on how to check your boobies for lumps.

I first primed my face using the UD Beauty Balm (review of this coming up real soon) and continued to fill my brows and highlight them. I then primed my eye lids using NYX JEP in Milk; before applying 3 shades of pink from the Morphe palette I contoured my eyes using Smashbox pencil in Black and blended to prevent any harshness with a plum shade from the same palette. To add a little spark too the eyes (and of course more pink) I added Selara glitter in fuschia pink, which is an iridescent blue/pink color, I applied this using E.L.F glitter glue. I lined my eyes using Jordana Color Envy liquid liner and mascara, before applying Red Cherry WSP lashes--I lined my waterline and also applied colors to my lower lid after I was done with my foundation.
I cleaned out the glitter fallout using a cleaning wipe, I avoided cleaning off the beauty balm I applied before I started my makeup application. I applied LA Girl Pro concealer in Fawn to highlight underneath my eyes, forehead, chi, nose bridge and blended with a damp beauty blender, followed that up by applying Ben Nye Powder in Banana before applying Selara foundation in SC2; this I applied all over by face with a RT Expert Face Brush (purchased from BeautyKink), making sure to feather the foundation into highlighted areas. I applied Milani Mineral Powder to set my foundation and contoured the hollows of my cheeks, temple and sides of my nose with Maybelline Clear Smooth powder in Cacao.

On my the apples of my cheeks, I used Selara blush in tropicana and applied Jordana bronzer to the highest points of my cheeks.

I mentioned that I tried something different on the lips, well, after dabbing off the excess lip balm I applied (I usually apply lip balm before makeup); I applied NYX JEP in Milk all over my lips!!! I figured it would make the lip color pop, and it did. I lined all over my lips using Italia pencil in Fuchsia and then Prestige lipstick, I blended both by smacking by lips together and  topped off using Motives for Lala lipshine in Soho Pink.
