Review: BM Pro
11:49 AMBanke Meshida-Lawal is one of the foremeost names in the Nigerian makeup industry so I decided to have her products as the first on my review page. I will be doing reviews of Nigerian owned makeup brands first (yeah, I now I’m partial) I can’t boast of having her full range of products however I know that I’m one of the few makeup artists that even have them.
The BM Pro products are Hypoallergenic (which means they are sensitive to all skin types) and has been in the market for over 5years (talk about tested and trusted). Believe me they are quite pricey---good stuff hardly come cheap.
In my personal collection I have the BM Pro Foundation Primer (contains Vit. A & E and grapeseed extract), 3 single eyeshadows(Lava, #830, HD Magenta) and 1 lipstick(Velvet Godiva Matte)
Of my collection, my personal favorite is the eyeshadow in Lava. It’s the perfect bronze/burnt shade. Its highly pigmented and its my best bronzy look for bridal makeup and even day makeup. It can also be used to create a smokey eye look when you’re not going for the regular black shadow.
The foundation primer has an opaque look and almost powdery feel. When it dries it still feels like you have wet primer on. When I met with Banke last year (at the airport) she advised that you use just a little bit (one drop is good enough), I like to think that the foundation primer is the key to a glam foundation look..so do follow her advice. Also love the primer bottle because it can fit into my smallest makeup purse (less luggage).

My lipstick shade (Velvet Godiya Matte) is a deep brown color and I use it best for nude lips/ semi nude lips, although I do wish it lasts a little longer, despite the “matte-ness” it still has a glossy look and feel. Maybe it’s the color, but I really I’m not loving the lipstick.
Purple is my bestest color ever that’s probably why I picked the BM Pro Dimensional Shadow the shade (KF) #830. It’s a purple glittery shadow and so far I love the color but not the glitter in it. I recently did a photoshoot with this particular shadow and will leave the verdict up to you. BTW…on scale of 10, my affections for this product is a 7!
Last and definitely not the least is my BM Pro High Definition Loose paint in the shade HD Magenta. Its also in the pink/purple family, hence my attraction to it. I advice that to use this product like all loose shadows get a stiff brush. Also had a shoot with this product and it was really fun to use in a High Fashion editorial.
The official opening of the BM Pro Abuja studio comes up sometime in Feburary and I’m gearing up to get loads of product, I’m so excited cos my heart is set on a few shadows, lipsticks and gloss….watch this space!!!
